Themes & Skills

Every month our teachers introduce new themes and associated activities in both the 3 year-old and 4 year-old classrooms. Program appropriate crafts, book projects, games, pretend play, and story time are often based on these various themes, such as: Creatures Under the Sea; Harvest Time; Preparing for Winter and the Holidays; Families; Space; Dinosaurs; Insects; & Transportation.

Our teachers work with the children to develop age-appropriate classroom skills throughout the year:

•3 year-old skills developed include establishing routine; line formation; counting; shapes; number sequencing; sorting and patterns; & cutting and printing.

•4 year-old skills developed include establishing classroom relationships; more advanced cutting and printing; sequencing; measurement; early addition and subtraction; & patterning.
